Chrysler recalls 67,872 Jeep Wranglers due to fire hazard

Published on February 27th, 2018

May 15, 2012 – Chrysler has recalled 67,872 Jeep Wranglers due to a fire risk. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”), 2010 Jeep Wranglers equipped with automatic transmissions may collect debris between a transmission plate and the catalytic converter, causing a fire. Dealers will replace the skid plate free of charge with a skid bar that will not trap debris.

Chrysler owners may contact NHTSA’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more information.
