Recall on 2020 Ford and Lincoln Models for Faulty Backup Cameras

Published on November 23rd, 2020

Over 620,000 Ford and Lincoln vehicles are being recalled from the 2020 model year because of their backup cameras either going blank or showing a distorted image while in use. When this happens, drivers are not able to clearly see people or obstacles behind them which can result in a car accident.

Specific recalled vehicles include the Ford F-150, Super Duty trucks, Ford Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, and Ranger in addition to Lincoln Corsair and Nautilus SUVs, Ford Transit vans and Ford Mustang convertibles and coupes.

The Problem

The impacted vehicles have a faulty circuit board that causes the images in the backup camera to be distorted or nonexistent. This means that the impacted vehicles do not meet the safety standards for visibility.
